The FTP VUU (VertX Update Utility) Utility has two main functions:
| 1. | Modify the needed files of a controller in order to function properly with WebBrix |
| 2. | Update a controller’s firmware version. |
The steps outlined in the section “Configuring VertX Controllers for WebBrix” can be accomplished much quicker using this utility.
In the past HID provided a utility called VUU (VertX Update Utility) to aid in the updating of controller firmware. HID has recently recommended a new FTP method to update their controllers firmware. The FTP VUU Utility has this functionality built in.
Once the FTP VUU Utility files have been placed on your PC, you can start the utility by running “VertXConfig.cmd”. This will bring up the application.
If you need only to update a controller to function properly with WebBrix, select option 1. You’ll then be prompted for the IP address of the controller.
If you need to update the firmware of a controller, select option 2. You’ll then be asked what type of controller you’ll be updating (Edge, v1000, v2000) and the IP address of the controller. Once started, this process takes about 4 mintues.
It’s recommended you reboot your controller after either step is complete.
